Sharing is caring! There’s a familiar phrase, right friends? One coined way back to encourage selflessness- particularly as a way to get children to collaborate well with each other.

For eight years, it has been the official tagline for the Share Foundation in Tema, Ghana. Share Foundation- the recipient of the charitable proceeds from our last two releases.

Lily, who runs the place with gusto and efficiency, rolls in on her wheelchair to give me the grand tour and information on the many ways the organization helps its communities.

With four awards under its belt, this non-governmental organization’s (NGO) vision and mission include seeing to the educational and developmental needs of keen underprivileged youth who need a boost.

Funds are spread far and wide and used to help with necessary repairs at schools while also donating computers, textbooks and costumes to kindergarten kids and providing beneficiaries and orphanages with hot lunches, clothes, shoes, food and other supplies.

Share Foundation has fully stocked three libraries around the communities and children are able to take part in reading clubs at the libraries as well as contests and spelling bees to promote literacy. Also included are top up classes and assignments, so students stay on track and work towards receiving the scholarships provided by the foundation. As the excursion continued, I was informed additional clubs are in the works. This is exciting to everyone, as it will ensure that more benefit from the services.

Beneficiaries also go on education trips to the University of Ghana for example and once in a while professionals from different masteries give motivational talks. All this is geared toward career guidance and equipping students for tertiary education.

To motivate the youth to continue to work hard, the foundation hands out Share Excellence Awards to pupils who have excelled in various disciplines.

As if my mind wasn’t already blown enough, it turns out the organization offers capital to parents and guardians to help boost their businesses.

Sharing really is caring and we are proud to be a part of this organization and thanks to you they can continue their great work.

Don’t forget to join us on our next release, so you can continue to sip for a cause!

Cheers,

Veronica
